Sandra Abena Songbird (Naylor) is an Abenaki Indian/French Canadian/Irish poet, writer and singer; a member of the Missisquoi Abenaki of Swanton, Vermont.  She is the author of "Bitterroot" (Freedom Voices Press) a collection of poetry, and CD, "They're Calling Us Home." Former Senior Staff Writer for the Dakota Lakota Journal (2005-2008), Abena currently is a freelance writer/photographer submitting to Native Legacy Magazine.
