Native Legacy was founded to provide knowledge and appreciation of the Great Plains Indian cultures, arts and history. We seek to forge a path between yesterday and today by educating our audience about the rich history of the Great Plains indigenous culture, while equally focusing on the contemporary issues that affect them today and tomorrow. Understanding the past is essential to the 21st century First Nations people and will undoubtedly influence generations to come. |

"My passion is to provide a publication that makes a positive impact. We live at a time where there is plenty of bad news but not enough emphasis on the good of our culture. I hope we can accomplish this together and bring honor to our ancestors and to the sacred carriers of the future--our children. Pilamaye!" Lila DeMarrias Mehlhaff, Standing Rock Hunkpapa.
