There are too few collections of Indian art in Indian Country. The number of significant collections of American Indian art accessible to the public in West River South Dakota may be counted on the fingers of one hand. One of the finest of these is the permanent collection of The Heritage Center at Red Cloud School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
